Iverson's 2001 Finals Shoe Returns
The Reebok Answer IV was Allen Iverson's signature during the 2001 NBA Finals, the season he won MVP and led the Sixers against the Lakers. The original released in 2001 and has been retro'd repeatedly, most recently with updates to the original cushioning setup. Modern retros use DMX foam in the forefoot rather than the original DMX I-Pak system, paired with 3D Ultralite in the heel for energy return. The outsole uses segmented herringbone with a 3D Ultralite forefoot puck visible underneath. Reflective overlays gave the upper its distinctive late-90s sci-fi feel. WearTesters, RunRepeat, and BasketballShoes 101 have all positively reviewed the modern retro, retailing around 130 to 140 dollars. The Answer IV remains one of the most culturally and athletically significant Iverson silhouettes.
