DeMarcus Cousins Debuts A Big-Man Shoe
PUMA launched The Legacy on August 17, 2019 at 100 dollars, and DeMarcus Cousins debuted it during Game 1 of the 2019 NBA Finals as a return from a quad injury. The build paired Ignite foam with PUMA Hybrid heel foam, a Boost-like compound that delivered Boost-style energy return without the licensing. The mid-cut upper used a knit construction with leather options, and the modified herringbone outsole performed reliably on clean courts. WearTesters tester Jalique Gabay described the Legacy as a reliable, get-the-job-done shoe with solid court feel, and Sun and Sole compared it favorably to the Kyrie 4. The Legacy was PUMA Basketball's third silhouette since the brand's late-2010s hoops relaunch and remained one of the better-rounded performers of that era.
