Context
Story & provenance
Third Year Of A Budget Line
The Kyrie Flytrap 3 released in 2020 and gave the budget line another tooling update while keeping the curved-outsole DNA that defined the series. Nike used an engineered mesh upper with Fuse overlays for a slightly cleaner construction, and the forefoot Zoom Air unit stayed in place atop Phylon. Reviewers from WearTesters and HoopsGeek pointed to traction and lateral containment as the consistent strengths of the line, while cushioning improved modestly over the second model. The Flytrap 3 stayed firmly in the 80-to-100 dollar range and continued to push huge units through Kids' Foot Locker, Champs, and team-shoe orders. It became one of the most-worn shoes in youth and high school hoops during its release window.
