Kyrie's Bridge to a Signature
The Hyperrev launched in early 2014 as Nike's heir to the Hyperfuse name, and it quickly became one of the most-worn team shoes of its era. Kyrie Irving wore it heavily during his second NBA season before getting his own signature, and a wave of guards across the league followed suit. The build paired a full-length Phylite midsole with both forefoot and heel Zoom Air for a livelier ride than the firmer Hyperfuses, while a mesh upper backed by a Hyperposite cage delivered structured but breathable containment. Dynamic Flywire ran through the lacing for lockdown. Reviewers from WearTesters, Nice Kicks, and Schwollo praised the traction and the punchy cushioning. The shoe also dropped at a friendly retail price relative to its performance, which cemented its popularity among hoopers on a budget.
