Lunarlon Pucks Meet Hexagonal Nubs
The HyperLive arrived in early 2016 as a mid-tier Nike team shoe positioned just below the Hyperrev. Its standout tech was a full Lunarlon drop-in midsole housed inside a Phylon shell, giving it a notably plusher ride than its team-shoe peers at a similar price. The outsole used a distinctive hexagonal nub traction pattern that worked well on clean courts but, as WearTesters noted, picked up dust quickly and required wiping. The upper used engineered mesh with Flywire cables threaded through the lacing for lockdown. The HyperLive was worn by a number of NBA players including DeMar DeRozan in a few PE colorways. It never quite cracked signature-tier status but reviewers found it an underrated cushioned option for guards and wings.
