A Three-Layer Construction Reborn

The original Hyperfuse arrived as Nike's first true team-shoe statement of the modern era, debuting in 2010 and refined in 2011. The 2011 version anchored Nike's basketball team rosters across the NBA and trickled into countless college programs. Its signature was the Hyperfuse construction itself, three layers of mesh, TPU film, and synthetic skin bonded under heat and pressure to deliver lightweight breathability with structure. Under foot, full-length Phylon cradled both forefoot and heel Zoom Air units, a generous cushioning package for what was technically a team shoe. Reviewers like WearTesters and Nice Kicks praised the cushioning and the comfortable, sock-like fit. The herringbone traction performed reliably across surfaces. While not a signature flagship, the Hyperfuse 2011 became a beloved utility hoop shoe and earned a quiet cult following, especially in the wave of player exclusives that followed.
