Zoom Returns to the Hyperdunk
The Hyperdunk 2010 followed the original 2008 Hyperdunk and the 2009 Hyperize, replacing the much-criticized Lunar Foam setup with Zoom Air at heel and forefoot 鈥 a change widely considered a major upgrade. At 11.6 ounces it was actually lighter than the 13-ounce 2008 original, paired with Skinwire (a molded evolution of Flywire) that locked the foot down via a full inner sleeve. The shoe became iconic when Dirk Nowitzki wore it through the Mavericks' 2011 NBA championship run, with Kevin Love, Andre Iguodala and Yi Jianlian among other notable players in the line. Reviewers from Hoopsfix, Nice Kicks, and Sneakerpedia praised its lockdown, balance, and traction; main criticisms were the stressed lacing structure and Skinwire upper not flexing as well as later iterations would. Within the Hyperdunk lineage it's remembered as one of the line's most beloved generations and a high point for non-signature Nike Basketball performance.
