Story & provenance
Draymond's Nike-Tech Crossover
Converse launched the G4 in September 2020, with Draymond Green debuting the low-top version during the NBA Finals. The shoe blended two flagship Nike technologies, an oval forefoot Zoom Air unit and a heel puck of React foam, within an unnamed Phylon-style chassis. The outsole borrowed visual cues from the ERX-260 with waffle and inverted-blade traction patterns built for both indoor and outdoor use. A ballistic nylon mesh upper with Fuse overlays provided structure, and a TPU heel counter handled lockdown. WearTesters tester Jalique Gabay and HoopsGeek both reviewed the G4 favorably, praising the cushioning and traction. The G4 Hi retailed at 120 dollars and the Low at 110 dollars, and the model marked Converse's most committed performance hoop shoe push in over a decade.
